    2016 Blue Convention

    Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26 - 2016. Ending with an awards banquet the evening of Saturday, March 26. Level IV and IE clinic offered on Thursday, March 24 (full day) and Sunday, March 27 (1/2 day).

    Registration  for the Level IV Clinic is currently FULL. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list in case a spot open up, email Donna Ozarko at dozarko@softball.ca.

    Softball Canada is pleased to announce a series of Regional Identification Camps for the Junior Women's National Team program in preparation for the 2017 WBSC XII Junior Women’s World Softball Championship.

    Please note that these Regional Identification Camps will be the ONLY open tryout opportunity for athletes to be identified for the 2017 Junior Women's National Team program.

    To book a room please phone the reservation number above and indicate you are with the “Softball Canada” group block. The room rate for single/double occupancy is $159.00 per room plus 15% HST and 4% TML for a total of $189.21 per room per night. The rate for a suite is $179.00 plus 15% HST and 4% TML for a total of $213.01. Outdoor parking is complimentary.  These rates are applicable for bookings November 7 to 11, 2017.

    Kindly note that bookings must be made prior to October 16, 2017 to guarantee the room rate.

    2018 Junior Women's National Team Combines

    Softball Canada is pleased to announce that a series of Technical Combines will be offered to identify athletes across the country beginning in April. Combines will be led by Women’s National Team staff and supported by current and former Women’s National Team athletes and staff.

    Each Combine will run a half day in length and include a Technical skills component and Fitness assessment component. This new approach to athlete identification places emphasis on offensive and defensive technical skill and physical fitness.

    Attending the Combine is advantageous to those who are serious about playing international softball. In addition to the Combine, athletes who attend will be tracked throughout the 2018 and the 2019 seasons including Provincial and Canadian Championships. In September, a “Prospects List” will be released along with a mandatory winter training program. In the spring of 2019 and 2020, final selection camps will be held to name the respective 2019 and 2020 rosters. Athletes interested in being considered for the 2019 and 2020 Junior Women’s National Team should attend one of the Combines.

    The 2019 Junior Women's National Team will target athletes born in 2000-2002, while the 2020 Junior Women's National Team will be for athletes born in 2001-2003.


    2018 Softball Summit

    January 12-14, 2018

    The 2018 Softball Summit will be held in Richmond, B.C. from January 12-14, 2018 at the Marriott Vancouver Airport Hotel in conjunction with the BC Sport Leadership Conference. Check out the 2018 Softball Summit website regularly for updates on speakers, topics, schedule of events, and more or contact Lise Jubinville, Softball Canada, (613) 523-3386, ext. 3108. Email Lise to be placed on an email distribution list for updates on the Softball Summit.

    Group Rate: A group rate for 5 or more coaches is available ($199). If you would like to register 5 or more coaches for the Full Softball Summit, please contact Lesley Rowe at Softball BC (info@softball.bc.ca or 604-371-0302, x-2). Do not use the online registration process. Note: To be able to select this option, all 5 or more coaches must be registered at the same time with one payment for all.

    The purpose of this form is for Softball Canada and the Slo-Pitch Border Battle Team Coaching Staff to gather profile information from athletes. Any personal or private information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any other parties.

    CANpitch Instructor Agreement

    Softball Canada is the national governing body for the sport of softball in Canada. CANpitch is Softball Canada’s national pitching program created to provide a nationally standardized curriculum based on Softball Canada’s Long-Term Player Development framework to introduce and develop the skill of windmill pitching to children and youth. The primary objective of CANpitch is to provide a vehicle to enhance the development of pitching skills and knowledge for both players and coaches across Canada especially at the grassroots level.

    This agreement acknowledges that Softball Canada is making a significant investment in this program and in the training of Master Pitching Instructors (MPIs) and the Provincial/Territorial Softball Association is making a significant investment in the training of Regional Pitching Instructors (RPIs). All CANpitch material is owned and copyrighted by Softball Canada and is the intellectual property of Softball Canada. This agreement also acknowledges that the branding of the CANpitch Program as a Softball Canada national program and the appointment as an MPI/RPI has significant value to MPIs and RPIs. 

    In consideration of the mutual agreements described below, the Parties hereby agree as follows:


    CANpitch Instructor Screening Disclosure Form

    Screening of personnel and volunteers is an important part of providing a safe sporting environment and has become a common practice among sport organizations that provide programs and services. Softball Canada is responsible at law, to do everything reasonable to provide a safe and secure environment for participants in its programs, activities and events. This Policy is one of several policy tools that Softball Canada will use to fulfill its’ commitment to provide a safe environment and to protect its members and participants from harm.

    The purpose of screening is to identify individuals within Softball Canada or its members who may pose a risk to its members and participants. 

    Note: Failure to disclose a conviction/sanction for which a pardon has not been granted may be considered an intentional omission and subject to failure of screening requirements as required by Softball Canada.
